Don't Know what Places Listings are?
Places Listings are denoted by the Red Balloon results labeled A, B, C, D, E, F, G, etc. when you search for an Inn by City +/- State + Bed and Breakfast.
In a nutshell, the Google Documentation referenced above includes 3 top ranking criteria.
- Relevance: How well does a local listing match what a web surfer is searching for?
- Distance: How far is each bed and breakfast from the city +/- state + bed and breakfast search phrase?
- Prominence: We like to think of this as Authority. IE: How well-known or prominent is your business's online presence?
