Google has many different "parameters" that you can use to learn information about your site.
In www.google.com you can use:
site: to know which and how many pages google know about for your domain.
Test this example by typing in the search box:
site:yoururl.com
(OR)
link: to know which and how many sites Google is counting as links TO your Web Site
Test this example by typing in the search box:
link:yoururl.com
BUT NOW GOOGLE IS PROVIDING A BLOG SEARCH DOMAIN WITH A DIFFERENT PARAMETER TO TELL YOU WHAT BLOG PAGES THEY HAVE IN THEIR SEARCH LISTINGS FOR ANY INDIVIDUAL WEB BLOG!
Go to blogger.google.com and now you can search for specific blog content on the web.
GOOGLE ALERT USERS!!! This also can tie in with your Google alerts if you set your search TYPE to "Blogs"
You can type a variety of things to search for your blog postings (or other people's blog content)
- Your Inn Name (really global results)
- BUT TO SEE ONLY the pages Google know about regarding your blog you can use the following parameters in the search box, similar as site: and link: that we have mentioned above.
Google Blogger Parameter Format
blogurl:http://blog.yoururl.com
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Word Press Format or other non-CNAME directed blogs
blogurl:http://www.yoururl.com
Give it a try! If you've recently starting Blogging, it's a great confirmation that Google is "seeing" your posts!
