Old Harbor Inn of Chatham, MA is the first inn for which we have built a responsive design site.
Responsive design is defined as : "Responsive design is an approach to web page creation that makes use of flexible layouts, flexible images and cascading style sheet media queries. The goal of responsive design is to build web pages that detect the visitor’s screen size and orientation and change the layout accordingly." - Internet Applications
Responsive design means that the site will adjust to fit which ever size screen the site visitor is using. Not simply re-size, but actually adjust to provide a better user experience. Whether the potential guest is using a large desktop computer or a smartphone, the site will respond to the screen to provide looks and usability to the viewer.
Lisa Kolb announced last week that all future Acorn designs will be built responsively to provide the best technology available to Acorn customers. Google has said that they recommend RD for mobile applications, and with the proliferation of other mobile devices such as multiply-sized tablets and phones, responsive design will allow for a good user experience for all site viewers. An Acorn built responsive Turnkey site provides an excellent, low-cost solution to the problem of how to make your site appealing to all of your potential guests.
