Acorn’s mission has long been to help Innkeepers learn to do as much of their own internet marketing as possible. Newbie or Aspiring Innkeepers are often surprised by the amount of information they need to learn about both the physical aspects of running an inn as well as the web presence, from social media to innsitters to reservations software and breakfast recipes. Acorn’s new series of Aspiring Innkeeper webinars is meant to address these aspects and help the new innkeeper be better prepared for their new career.
The webinars feature a guest speaker, either a current or former innkeeper, who discusses inn management in many different categories. Our most recent speaker talked about community involvement and how a savvy innkeeper can garner more business by being involved in the area. The second section of the webinar is a “Tech Talk”, in which an Acorn team member teaches on web presence in its many forms.
Now in its seventh month, the Aspiring/Newbie Innkeeper series is having its intended effect:
