We had a great time visiting with everyone this year in Little Rock. This year celebrates our 10 Year Anniversary in the industry, and our booth was hopping between Mark, Willie and me.
Though I can’t say the weather was great, but the Peabody Ducks didn’t seem to mind the wet weather!
This year we participated in the Exhibitors Connection on Monday and were pleased to have over 50 in attendance. The 4.5 hour intensive course on the “Internet and the Innkeeper” was very well received by all those that attended.
Then on Tuesday we presented “Google Places: Search, Smart Phones and More” … New York Subway style! We literally had attendees sitting on the floor in the isles and standing in the back for the hour long session. And even though the accommodations might have been just a bit too “cozy”, one Innkeeper stopped me after the session to share that this session was worth the price of admission for the conference! As that teaching is one of my passions, when we see an Innkeeper learning something new for the first time, it makes all the preparation and work for the conference worth it!
On Wednesday, our presentation room was upgraded to a Ballroom with a raised stage and 2 large screens. We taught “Video Basics for the Innkeeper”. It was a light and fun session on how Innkeepers can use flat photos, add voice over and music to create their own videos for use on their Blogs, Web sites and Social Media. I had a blast creating a LIVE video from scratch as the attendees watched and learned the steps to try it at home! More than one Innkeeper stopped by to share their creative ideas on how they plan to use the tool to grow their business!
This year we also offered the “Wear a Pin for a Chance to Win” Acorn University Giveaway, which we announced the winner on Thursday.
Can you guess the hotel from the photo?
