From time to time our clients will take a moment and share the success they are having with different areas of marketing they are currently working on. We received the following E-Mail regarding one of our clients success in moving away from PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and replacing it with FREE traffic.
"For the first time, this week, my website has entered the first page on Google searches for the terms I value most. I attribute all of this progress to the education about Search Engine Optimization that I got from Acorn-IS. Thank you for teaching me how to do the right things on my own so I don't have to pay-per-click anymore.
My number one method for inching up the Google results has been blogging. I began blogging on 4/1/09. I have 240 blog posts, so far, and now try to write 3-4 times a week. I try to be interesting and relevant to my industry and location in each of my short stories. This is the biggest area of concentration I have done for SEO, so I am attributing almost all of my Google success to the blogging techniques you have taught me, along with the web of key words I have woven throughout my website.
The terms I value most are "michigan bed and breakfast", "bed and breakfast michigan", and "bed and breakfast in michigan". I did in-private searches so that my history would not affect my results. My most recent search results put Munro House in positions 10, 7, and 8 respectively. Of course, I am in first position for local searches like "jonesville michigan bed and breakfast" and all of its variations. I also score on the first page for almost anything that is tourist/travel related in a 20 mile radius.
A good teacher produces good students. I am very proud of the results I have achieved using the tools you have given me.
I am forever a big fan of Acorn-IS. Thank you"
And Mike, a big thank you to you for allowing us to share your success!

It's so nice to hear these stories from Innkeepers who are striving to move their business forward in todays market. It just proves that the lessons Acorn teaches DO work if you apply them.
Bravo Mike!!
So this has got me thinking.. if i scatter from time to time "Maine bed and breakfast" "bed and breakfast Maine" and "bed and breakfast in Maine" in my blog posts will that increase my ranking on google too?
Mark, yes, this is exactly what Mike has done up in Michigan. The main thing to remember is that you must use those phrases as anchor text for your own site's URL.
