Technorati is a blog search engine. Think Google for blogs. They define themselves this way: "It is a real-time search engine that keeps track of what is going on in the blogosphere — the world of weblogs." Technorati returns search results for blogs. The great thing about this web site is that when people link to your blog on the site, you get automatic (and important) backlinks.

Follow the instructions to join, which include an e-mail verification process, then follow the prompts to "Claim your Blog", which include verification through open ID or with a code that you place on an otherwise empty blog post. Then, after you've claimed your blog, tag it! Add all the tags that you use on your blog, so that you can be found be interested parties searching Technorati.
