Recently Facebook started rolling out a new option for Pages. It's a Call to Action button, which can be found in the large cover photo at the top of your page. The button has a few options to choose from:
- Book Now
- Contact Us
- Use App
- Play Game
- Shop Now
- Sign Up
- Watch Video
Obviously, the most useful option for a B&B would be the Book Now button. Here are the steps to add the button to your Facebook page:
First, click the "Create Call to Action" button on your page
Next, choose the type of button you want to add:
If you've chosen "Book Now", enter a link to your booking engine, or a link to your site if you've got a calendar page.
Note: If you are using Acorn's booking tracking tool, Intell-a-Keeper and you want to see how many bookings Facebook is driving to your business, remember that your calendar link url should be: http://www.yourURL.com/ik-resv-redirect.htm
Example for Caldwell House: http://www.caldwellhouse.com/ik-resv-redirect.htm
Next, you'll go through two screen that ask where to send people if they have an iPhone or iPad- choose "website":
And then again for Android devices, choose "website" :
Now, you'll see the button type you chose earlier, along with a confirmation that your button is ready to use:
Finally, you can see your button on your Facebook page!
If you can't see the button yet, never fear, it's rolling out, so you will eventually have it. It will be interesting to see if this get used, and if it brings more traffic.
