Use Social Media to Connect with Your Customers
Is Social Media just a fad, or is Tweeting and Blogging for business something important for innkeepers and small business owners to evaluate and embrace? The answer is IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! Business owners that choose not embrace Social Media are not going to be able to compete successfully in today’s Online World.
The following videos are an interesting historical perspective of advertising from print media to radio and TV, to today’s Social Media.
You MUST choose to communicate to your customers and guests in a fashion that they prefer, even if it’s not the most comfortable fashion that YOU prefer to use, you will create a bond and relationship with those customers and guests. And they will share that experience with their “friends,” who will pass it on to their “friends,” and so on. It’s the old concept of 2 people, tell 2 people, who tell 2 people, and before you know it, you have a huge following that wants to hear what you have to say.
Even if you feel intimidated by the idea of using Social Media to market your business, you need to recognize the value of tools such as Blogging and Tweeting, Facebooking, and Google Plus (+). Acorn Internet Services is here to help. We offer business Social Media support, consulting, and Ongoing Education as well as services such as setup and customization of Blogs, Twitter backgrounds, and Facebook Landing Pages.
Social Media IS NOT about how YOU want to communicate to your customers and guests. It’s about how your customers and guests want you to communicate to them. Try this out. Begin talking to your customers and guests about the types of Social Media that they prefer to use.
You will find out that some of them love to TWEET on Twitter. You also will find that you have some customers and guests that are “die-hard” Facebookers. You’ll also have some that prefer to read your Blog posts, and you’ll even have some that just want to stick with the good old standby E-mail newsletter. Social Media is all about you adapting to their needs and preferences of communication, and when you do, you will see those relationships grow along with your business and your bottom line.
Social Media is NO LONGER A NICE TO HAVE – it’s a MUST HAVE!
Currently, we are encouraging our customers to first create a Blog that will support their site with increased pages and links, but at the same time, learn to write incredibly interesting posts that your guests will want to read and that Google will index well!
You will also need to establish a Facebook Business Page. If you choose, your blog then may be programmed to automatically FEED your Facebook Business Page wall to keep down the work effort of getting your news out to all your customers and guests, just the way they prefer! Then you will need to establish a Twitter Account for your communication to your customers and guests who prefer Tweeting! Finally, we recommend establishing a Google Plus (+) Account for communication to your customers and guests who stay logged into their Google Account on their PC, Tablet, or Phone.
Your Twitter, Facebook, and Blog may be customized to match your visual Web site branding. Do note that customization is NOT NECESSARY for either to work well in the Social World. What your pages look like doesn’t matter to Google, Bing, or Yahoo for indexing purposes. They only care about the content on the page. Not what it looks like.
If you are not yet immersed in SOCIAL MEDIA, now is the time, don’t delay. Truly, the success of your business depends on it.
