Mark and Lisa Kolb and Willie Louthen-Brown attended the New England Conference and Trade Show held in Nashua, NH, November 16-18, 2009.
What a great time we had visiting with the New England Innkeepers! We completely filled all our 30 minute 1-on-1 sessions that we offered to the attending innkeepers. During these 1-on-1 sessions we were able to review each innkeeper’s web site, their organic and local placement, and basically offer our time and expertise to answer any questions they had regarding their internet placement, all in an quiet, off-the-trade-show-floor location.
Lisa Kolb presented “Find it, Claim it and BE SEEN in Google Local!” on Tuesday, November 17 from 3:45 pm – 5:00 pm. This session was an overwhelming success. Past PAII attendees have been asking for more and more interactive hands-on classes including tangible “take-aways”, and that’s exactly what we were able to provide them! The conference room was completely filled with eager to learn innkeepers. Thankfully the internet access issues at the hotel were resolved right before the session started and held solidly throughout the 1 hour and 15 minute class. Many innkeepers brought along their laptops and joined us online to follow along with our live, interactive classroom format, while others were taking notes to try out these interactive classes once they returned home. The session was a huge success and the New England innkeepers enjoyed learning hands-on all about Google Local Business and how it has the power to increase their bottom line!
To wrap up our stay in Nashua, we offered AFTER CONFERENCE hands-on training. The conference ended at 12:30 pm and by 1:00 pm innkeepers, along with their box lunches, filled all the available seats in an Acorn Internet Services sponsored conference room for more live hands-on training. During the two hours from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm innkeepers interested in additional hands-on training were invited to attend and actually set up live a Google Alerts account and Create a Google Map (to support their local listings). We also covered other topics such as Google Webmaster Tools, Google’s newest (soon to be released) organic algorithm “Caffeine”, Blogging techniques and many other innkeeper requests. This was such a great opportunity for innkeepers to go home with tangible “take-aways” outside those available at the regularly scheduled PAII sessions.
We want to say thank you to everyone we had a chance to meet and we look forward to sharing even more great information with you on our Webinars throughout the end of the year!
